Lamberts Vitamin C Magnesium Ascorbate Powder (250g)

This powder provides a readily absorbable form of vitamin C, which is non-acidic. Due to its gentle action, this formula relieves strain on digestive resources whilst providing a usable form of magnesium. Vitamin C was first discovered in 1932 and was the subject of the first controlled nutritional experiment in recorded history. It is known to be involved in at least 300 biochemical pathways in the body. It is a water soluble vitamin and, as man is unable to manufacture this vitamin within the body, a daily intake is necessary. Powders are ideal for those who find tablets difficult to swallow. Vitamin C is involved in cell and tissue repair. Vitamin C is involved in the conversion of proline to hydroxyproline and is therefore essential in collagen maintenance in skin, bones and teeth. Vitamin C is required for the activity of leucocytes, immunoglobulins and natural antibodies. Vitamin C protects vitamins A and E against damage. Vitamin C helps maintain normal blood cholesterol levels. Vitamin C has antioxidant properties. Vitamin C is involved in the formation of corticosteroid hormones in the adrenal gland.

Dosage recommendations: 1 to 3 grams daily. 1/4 teaspoon = 1 gram. Small intakes several times daily (freshly made up) are more beneficial than a large single daily dose.

Caution: Over 1000mg of vitamin C may cause mild stomach upset in sensitive individuals.
