5-HTP, short for 5-hydroxytryptophan, is a derivative of the amino acid tryptophan, and is converted in the brain, into the neurotransmitter serotonin which influences everything from appetite, to mood, to sleep.

We are delighted to introduce 5-HTP to the Lamberts® range and use a natural source, extracted from the seeds of Griffonia simplicifolia.

Each tablet provides a full 100mg of 5-HTP and many nutritional advisors now recommend this nutrient when they suspect people are having a tryptophan deficiency that may be affecting their health.

Tableted with: DiCaloium Phosphate, Calcium Carbonate, Cellulose, Tablet Coating (Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose, Colour: Titanium Dioxide, Glycerin), Silicon Dioxide, Stearic Acid, Magnesium Stearate.

Disintegration time: Less than 1 hour.

Dosage recommendations: Take up to 3 tablets daily, half an hour before meals or half an hour before bedtime or as directed by a practitioner or pharmacist. Do not exceed recommended daily dose5-HTP is best taken for periods of up to 3 months.

Caution: Do not take if pregnant or breast feeding. 

Mild drowsiness may occur in some people. It is advisable not to drive or operate machinery until you determine how 5-HTP affects you.
